Curious World Maps includes a comprehensive database of political boundaries, coastlines, rivers, major roads, named places, and relief topography covering the entire world. The data, from sources such as the US Geological Survey, is fully prepared for immediate use with Curious World Maps. You can create your own color scheme styles for presenting the data to suit your corporate style, or you can use optional Natural Earth coloring for real-world realism.
If you want to create maps that show even greater detail, or if you are concerned with a limited geographical area only, these optional data packages are available for World Maps. Adding in-depth street data or high-resolution relief topography allows you to produce detailed, high quality maps right down to a local street corner and beyond.
Street Data Packs for Cities and other Local Regions
Street Data add-on packs are available for cities and towns throughout the USA, Europe, and many other areas around the world. Street data from Curious Software is easy to use and has been specially packaged to produce the best results when used in Curious World Maps.
With Street Data you can search on individual street names, highlight and label individual streets, roads or routes, and customise the style of the street data to match your own in-house look. You can add categories of roads, show public parks, buildings and airports, and other features to deliver the precise information your audience needs.
Street Data packs are perfect for broadcasters, corporate users and government agencies - anyone, in fact, who needs to show the ultimate in street detail.
You can purchase Street Data in units ranging from the local (typically a county, or city), right up to coverage for a whole country, or group of countries. There are significant reductions in price per area available for data orders covering larger areas.

High Resolution Satellite Imagery
Curious have teamed up with the world's top providers of satellite data to offer our customers the ability to create stunningly realistic and incredibly detailed maps of anywhere in the world, enhanced with satellite imagery. You can enrich your still maps with the realism of satellite photography or go even further with the 3D options and produce breathtaking zooms and fly-throughs in minutes.
World Maps automatically places your geo-referenced imagery into the correct position on the map layer, so combining satellite imagery with your graphical map detail is easy. You can show flat satellite imagery or apply relief shading for ultimate realism. And to help you integrate satellite imagery into your house style, World Maps lets you apply color correction to the images to achieve the look you want.
Curious Satellite data packs are ready to use in World Maps without further preparation, and the Curious multi-resolution format allows the use of extremely large satellite images without placing excessive demands on your computer's memory.
Satellite data is available in these formats:
- City: 1m resolution for most cities in North America and Europe, and many other cities around the world
- Local: 15m resolution is widely available across Europe and North America and for many other regions around the world
- National: 30m resolution is available for most countries in the world
- International: 100m resolution is available for the whole world

Relief Topography
(DEM Digital Elevation Model)
Curious World Maps ships with fully integrated relief data from the USGS (US Geological Survey) at 1km resolution. If you want to produce relief maps of even more detail, Curious supplies high-resolution relief data in DEM (Digital Elevation Model) format for large areas of the world's surface. Curious DEM Data packs are optimized for use in World Maps and allow you to make very high quality relief maps of even small areas.
International coverage at 100m resolution is available for most of the world. National (30m) and Local (10m) coverage is available for all of the USA and many other countries and regions round the world.
