As a smaller company, Curious Software may not have all of the PR resources to
market its product like 'the big boys and girls' can muster. But, let me tell
you ... for painting and rotoscoping applications, Curious gFx is the product
to have. I urge readers to visit the web site, download the demo and experience
the program for yourself. This product has the potential to lead the pack in painting
and roto-splines. Try it ... you'll like it.

Dick Hobbs writes ...
Curious came to everyone's notice a couple of years ago because they filled a
gap in the market in an imaginative way. Curious World Maps made it easy for designers
under pressure to create attractive and informative maps precisely to the needs
of the programme. This year saw version 4 of the software, adding amongst other
things enhanced shape tools and support of bezier and b-spline curves.
What gFX does is take the same powerful graphics engine and put a new set of paint,
rotoscoping and compositing tools onto it. The user interface is designed with
the designer under pressure in mind. With the latest advances in computer power
- and particularly the G5 Mac - this resolution independent software is as at
home in the digital film workflow as in television production.

Ben Smith writes ...
Curious software will be a familiar name for some readers on the strength of their
flagship product: Curious World Maps, a software application that neatly fills
the niche market for animated maps and broadcast graphics.
… gFx, a new product aimed squarely at the film and video post production market's
requirement for fast and efficient creation of rotoscoped mattes.
If you do a lot of rotoscoping and matte creation, you might like to take a serious
look, as any package that speeds up your workflow could be a significant advantage.
