Curious Software is an innovative software company with
a great pedigree. Our founders were previously members of the senior management
and software development team of Parallax Software, a leading developer
of software for film and television graphics and special effects, which
was acquired in 1995 by Avid Technology Inc. Parallax developed Matador,
a very successful motion-graphics application for TV and movie special effects
work, and Illusion, a compositing and finishing system.
Founded in May 1999, Curious makes high quality professional information
graphics available to everyone creating content for the television, post-production,
Internet and corporate graphics industries. Launched in April 2000, Curious
World Maps is a unique and powerful software package for the creation of
digital maps for broadcast television news, documentaries, video and film
production and post-production, websites, and a wide range of other media.
Established as the industry standard for map creation, its intuitive user-interface
and comprehensive built-in databases make it quick and easy to generate
highly-detailed, broadcast quality still and animated maps of anywhere in
the world on any Windows® PC or Mac®.
In June 2005 Curious Software was acquired by Vizrt Ltd.
